A glossary of common terms we use, for your reference

We understand there will be many terms that sound quite confusing, so we hope this glossary helps!

Android

Android is a mobile operating system, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Our In-Store Merchant App is only compatible with Android devices and can be downloaded here.

App

An application, to be downloaded by a user to a mobile device. Our In-Store Merchant App can be found here.

Booking

An act of requesting a rider from your integrated on-demand courier.

Borzo

Borzo (formerly known as MrSpeedy) is an on-demand courier service that can be integrated with our app.

Branch Location

This is your store location – the restaurant, shop, or branch that will fulfill the order placed and where the rider or customer will go to pick up the order.

COD

Cash On Delivery. This is when the payment is not made online but will be given to the rider as the food order is delivered, or to your staff when the customer picks up their order from your branch location.

Google Play Store

Google Play Store is developed by Google and is where you can find and download our In-Store Merchant App. To make things easier for you, you can click here to easily find and install our In-Store Merchant App now!

GrabExpress

GrabExpress is an on-demand courier service that can be integrated with our app.

Install URL

This is a link to be sent to your store’s designated device after the In-Store Merchant App has been downloaded to your device and the store’s branch location has been added to the Restaurant Alert + Deliver app on Shopify.

In-Store Merchant App

Restaurant Alert + Deliver requires the In-Store Merchant App to be downloaded on an Android device. You can learn all about the In-Store Merchant App here and download the app here.

Linking

Linking is when you connect a tablet device to a branch location that you have added to Restaurant Alert + Deliver on your Shopify store. This linked tablet will serve as your staff’s device for taking in new orders and booking riders using our In-Store Merchant App.

Locations

The Locations within the Restaurant Alert + Deliver settings are your branch locations that you would like to connect to our app.

MrSpeedy (now known as Borzo)

MrSpeedy (now known as Borzo) is an on-demand courier service that can be integrated with our app.

On-Demand Courier

An on-demand courier service is a delivery platform that allows for immediate one-time bookings. This type of service is best for same-day or instant deliveries that can be fulfilled via a motorcycle rider.

Order

An order is the food items that the customer purchased from your Shopify store.

Order Alert

Order alerts are sent to your branch location’s In-Store Merchant App when an order has been placed on your Shopify store. These instant alerts come in as pop ups on your device and are accompanied by a ringing tone.

Order Notification

The order notification is seen after the order alert is dismissed. Within the notification, you’ll see the new orders that have been placed and have yet to be accepted or cancelled.

QR Code

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode that can be scanned via phone camera. Our Install URL comes in a QR code format for easy linking.

Rider

A rider is the motorcycle delivery person that will deliver your orders to your customers.

Shopify Store

Your Shopify store has an admin backend with your order lists, customer database, settings, and other functionalities that you would need to set up Restaurant Alert + Deliver and customize your ecommerce website.

Store Location

This is your branch location – the restaurant, shop, or branch that will fulfill the order placed and where the rider or customer will go to pick up the order.

ZAP

ZAP is the developer of the Restaurant Alert + Deliver app.
