Instant Alert Troubleshooting: OnePlus Devices

Detailed troubleshooting instructions for various OxygenOS/Android Versions of OnePlus devices.

Our In-Store Merchant App sends instant alerts that should both be seen on your device screen and have a ringing sound.

If new orders come in and you don't see this instant alert, this is usually because it's being blocked by a certain setting. Here are the settings to check on:

1. Enable the In-Store Merchant App Notification Settings.

  • On your device's In-Store Merchant App, tap on the menu icon found on the upper lefthand corner of the screen.

  • Tap on Settings.

  • Turn on the Notification setting to receive full-page alerts.

  • If your Draw Over Apps setting hasn't been enabled yet, you will receive a pop-up prompt to do so, leading you to your device's App Settings. Tap on the App Settings button and enable the In-Store Merchant App to draw over other apps.

2. Enable Notifications for the In-Store Merchant App through your device's App Settings.

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Application List

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Tap on Notifications.

  • Enable notifications for the In-Store Merchant App by tapping on the toggle.

3. Enable Draw Over Apps or App to Appear On Top through your device's App Settings.

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Application List.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the App Info page.

  • Tap on Draw Over Other Apps.

  • Enable the In-Store Merchant App to draw over other apps by tapping on the toggle.

Other things you can do to troubleshoot the instant alert:

1. Turn off Battery Saver. This will help the In-Store Merchant App stay active even if the device is idle.

  • Go to your phone's Settings > Battery > Battery Saver.

  • Disable the Battery Saver by tapping on the toggle.

2. Turn off Battery Optimization for the In-Store Merchant App. This helps the app to send notifications even if the device is idle or if the app is in the background.

  • Go to your phone's Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Select the Don't Optimize option, then tap Done.

OxygenOS Version 9.0.5 (Android 9)

2. Enable Notifications for the In-Store Merchant App through your device's App Settings.

  • Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Tap on Notifications.

  • Enable notifications for the In-Store Merchant App by tapping on the toggle.

3. Enable Display Over Apps or App to Appear On Top through your device's App Settings.

  • Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the App Info page.

  • Tap on Display Over Other Apps.

  • Enable the In-Store Merchant App to display over other apps by tapping on the toggle.

Other things you can do to troubleshoot the instant alert:

1. Turn off Background Restriction for the In-Store Merchant App. This helps the app to send notifications even if the device is idle or if the app is in the background.

  • Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Tap Battery.

  • Tap Background Restriction.

  • Remove the restriction to allow the In-Store Merchant App to send notifications even if in the background.

2. Turn off Battery Optimization for the In-Store Merchant App. This helps the app to send notifications even if the device is idle or if the app is in the background.

  • Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Tap Battery.

  • Select the In-Store Merchant App from your list of applications.

  • Select the option for Don't Optimize, then tap Done.

3. Turn off Battery Saver. This will help the In-Store Merchant App stay active even if the device is idle.

  • Go to your phone's Settings > Battery > Battery Saver.

  • Disable the Battery Saver by selecting the OFF option.

4. Turn off Adaptive Battery. This will help the In-Store Merchant App stay active even if the app is idle.

  • Go to your phone's Settings > Battery > Adaptive Battery.

  • Disable the Adaptive Battery function by tapping on the toggle.

OxygenOS Versions 10.3.1 & 11 (Android 10 & 11)
